This is overhated, but as someone who got into Bans during the Money So Long days, Misunderstood is a respectable but unwelcome change in direction. Yung Bans has been a frustrating character in the rap game, whether because of his house arrest and subsequent legal limitations, or the online trolling and teasing songs that never release, he's given plenty of reasons for people to hate him. His ego got way too big, and the commercial failure of this album proves that people were not here for ... read more
going to be honest, I really liked this. Way better than I expected. I always thought Yung Bans was a really interesting vocalists but thought a lot of baggage came with some of his originality. I usually found him pretty whiny, lazy, and really quiet. Kinda mumbly, to a point where I couldn't understand him but it also wasn't very entertaining. Now though he's expanded on his usually incredibly understated delivery to make it pretty exciting and audible. He also occasionally dips into his ... read more
I really enjoyed this project for what it is.

The first time I listened to Yung Bans, was on the track with YBN Nahmir and Landon Cube, 'Ridin', and I despised that track and I still do to this day. That awful production, those vocals by Yung Bans are appalling, YBN Nahmir's verse is bad and Landon's vocals is the only thing on the track I like a little. While some of the production offered here is better than some other trap released as of late, Yung Bans' vocal performances are constantly underwhelming, and he is constantly outshined by his guests. The highs are considerably high, but the lows constant and threaten to outweigh the best offered here. If the best tracks here were collected to a 6-7 track EP like the rest of Bans' work, this would be his best project to date. But unfortunately, this thing is watered down by a slew of forgettable ... read more
OVERALL: Bans's 2019 LP isn't bad but not too good neither. I'd say it isn't average, feel like it's an actual decent album. Has it's lows and highs, but considering it was long it didn't really feel like it because it wasn't boring in any way. Peoduction from the likes of WondaGurl,Daytrip,Nick Mira and Maaly Raw was crazy asf. Beat changes were incredibly smooth (ex: "Too Many Times"). Bans has some pretty good vocals and i wanted more of X then actually him just giving additional ... read more
