Next to The Sun is a good album, providing polished neo soul sounds paired with KAINA's striking voice. While none of the tracks on the project are particularly great, all of which being relatively simple production-wise as well as lacking in memorable sound, KAINA's wonderful vocals do not render these faults as too much of an issue.

As her debut LP, Next to The Sun showcases that KAINA is yet another talented Chicago artist who should be placed upon everyone's radar.
This album is a really enjoyable debut. The production is dreamy and yet, still has this great down to earth and organic feeling. Such a nice blend of Neo-soul and even a bit of Latin pop. Kania's chilling voice one each track has such a nice potency that grabs your attention. Here Kania seems to be exploring themes of love, acceptance and even a bit her own heritage on this album. Would definitely recommend.
