Trying to be the next BROCKHAMPTON member, I see.

Jokes aside, this is waaay better than I was expecting it to be! It's nothing groundbreaking and Willow's lyrics are pretty barebones, but the production is absolutely phenomenal, the mixing is spot-on and her vocals are beautiful. Overall, this is definitely a step in the right direction and Willow seems to be the only Smith in the family who's close to finding their own voice.

Willow’s self-titled project is definitely a step above her previous work and anything Jaden has done in his whole career. Both of these kids have genuinely respectable musical ambitions, but Willow seems to be able to pull hers off with much more authenticity. She doesn’t do anything groundbreaking or new on this project, but she shows a lot of potential in her combination of classic neo-soul and the tropes of modern day R&B. There are a few moments where this style falls flat ... read more

I'm a fan of Willow and I won't deny it, but this album has a really different taste, I see an evolved artist in this project and not that wild teenager who thought she could make critic acclaimed albuns, now she's better and I can feel the influences that she has, probably a lot of people in this website will hate it, but personally I think it's fantastic.

the project feels consistent as a whole, thanks to the fitting mixing and instrumentation. but the songwriting is average and her vocal delivery comes off a bit repetitive after a few tracks

Pretty enjoyable album from Willow. She draws from multiple influences and while it does feel familiar, it also shows Willow is pretty talented and has a lot of potential as an artiste.

Obviously Willow can no wrong, and after her last two albums, has proved herself to be one of the most talented young adults out there, but Willow is different than you might expect. The alternative rock she explored on her last LP, The 1st, is expanded on here, with a bit more grit but still that some knack that makes it feel like Willow. I wish it was longer, but the 8 tracks, which clock in at just a mere 23 minutes, are cool. Maybe I'll like it more in time.

Demorou tanto mas ele veio e está muito bom, a sonoridade suave e equilibrada com a guitarra elétrica soou muito bem.

THESE VOCALS, GODDAMN they are amazing the instrumentals are also very good. this is way better than Jaden's (her brother) album "ERYS"

Not groundbreaking, but not awful either. That last track is definitely a standout cut.

This is actually pretty interesting. The Smith kids definitely are ambitious in their musical ventures, but I think WIllow is coming into her own way more than Jaden is, not that it's a competition. Her neo-soul approach (and 8 tracks) make this a much more palatable project than ERYS, which I didn't hate, but I didn't love either.

Willow's singing is really pleasant and soft, which really is complemented by spacey, wavy beats. The songwriting is pretty average, but she's also young, so I can ... read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see the number ratings for this album, as I was expecting them to be lower. I've always really liked Willow Smith, she's always been dreamy and vibey which this project showcases wonderfully. Does she really have anything important to say? Not at all. But maybe that's okay.

Given the flops of Jaden's artistic efforts, I've had a bit of reservations with listening to Willow's bodies of work. I'm very glad that I was proven wrong.

It seems that Willow's the only one in the family that seems bent on standing out artistically. I think she realised that the only for her do that is try to find her own sound. I believe she's getting close to that goal here. Pulling influences from indie rock, neo-soul and art-pop & dream pop, She crafts a fine set of tracks that ... read more

this record is... magical

it feels like walking across a forest at midnight while being high and accompanied by fairies. it feels like being lost in space, floating, peacefully, with the stars, immersed in your own thoughts

willow's vocals on here is just out of this world. they're delicate and smooth and controlled, and strong enough to create a whole world using only her voice. and the instrumentals are just as gorgeous and incredible

even though it's nothing groundbreaking, it's still an ... read more

pois bem.

After the surprise that was "ERYS", I had to try Willow's self titled album. I seemed to hit a streak, as both these albums are way better than I expected them to be.
With a runtime of just over 20 minutes, it is Willow's shortest project to date and also her most minimalist. The production relies mainly on a guitar, sometimes bringing in a few other instruments. "WILLOW" stands on Willow's beautiful, stripped down voice which effortlessly carries every emotion necessary. ... read more

Nothing special on here but cant fault its relaxing and dreamy atmosphere on this record. She definitely wears her influences over her sleeves and the lyrics being too superficial and vague but the production on here and willow vocals do carry some of these tracks.

Edit: Fuck it this is a 9.

This is genuinely very nice I think, as someone else said Willow couldn't have made a better first impression on me...

A lot of people said the songwriting/lyrics are a little lackluster but I really don't have a problem with it, at all. It sounds like someone making the music they want to make and not trying too hard to be popular or famous or overcomplicated, it's very effortless/dreamy and I like that tbh, it suits well with her voice. (Which is incredible ... read more

I didn't expect much, I didn't get much. Boring, void of content. Its not that she's talent-less, she's just got no life experience that creates music with any real feeling. She got some great producers and spent the money she needed to make it listenable, but its not something I'd ever choose to listen to again or feel compelled to revisit.
