On The Lion King: The Gift, Beyoncé deftly connects a kid's flick to something bigger, honoring not only Africa and its traditions but also shifting perspective to future destiny and greatness. It's a superior statement and a lesson on how to properly execute a winning soundtrack.
With The Gift, Beyonce has repurposed The Lion King to send her own powerful messages.
The Gift is a deft balancing act that weighs personal songwriting flourishes and meaning with Disneycore tropes, as well as a sincere desire to celebrate the music of the African diaspora with its fundamentally commercial obligations.
‘The Lion King: The Gift’ showcases what Beyoncé can do at her best and most creative, yet consistency is an issue with this eclectic album.
The Gift leans on variety to express its love of blackness, yet a singular voice proves just as affecting.
Her solo numbers are of varying quality, but Beyoncé gives a valuable platform to African artists in this collaborative Disney spinoff.
The greatest gift in The Lion King: The Gift is from Beyoncé to her daughter. Her attempt to capture the spirit of black people all the world over falls flat, but her attempt to capture the spirit of one little brown-skinned girl succeeds admirably.

So stunning. The Afrobeats elements are gorgeous. Bey's vocal delivery is out of this world. It proves that everything Beyoncé touches turns to gold.
God this soundtrack is a blast. There are some moments and features that are weak but outside of that I think I prefer this over the film it came from. Great soundtrack.
