Twin Peaks have gone from drunk party animals to the band your parents would listen to.
I think the overall sound comes closer to that of Wild Onion's, for the better. Their high-quality songwriting from Down in Heaven is still in tact, but they're refocused on their original sound more, an indie rock tribute to their dads' record collections. I also feel them channeling The Dead here more strongly than most other bands who attempt to do so.
Casey's Groove, Better Than Stoned, Dance Through It, Lookout Low, Ferry Song and Sunken II are probably strongest
Hmmmmm, so yea I discovered Twin Peaks on my Discover Weekly 2ish years ago and they've basically become one of my favorite bands over that time. I always appreciate when bands evolve sonically overtime, and Twin Peaks has kept showing that on each consecutive project, which is why I praise them so much. However, the singles leading up to this album weren't totally my thing and I really only liked Ferry Song, minus the eh vocals & mixing.
