The Brooklyn rapper makes good on the promise of “Welcome to the Party” with a debut full of the hardest, dirtiest tracks he can manage.

As well as a poor showing for Smoke, this is a disappointing mainstream statement from Brooklyn's otherwise vibrant scene.

Pop Smoke delivers a great debut mixtape with banger on banger. I actually heard the second instalment of this Meet the Woo series first and when I first heard it I thought it was average. I always liked Dior but never actually listened to a full album by Pop Smoke. His forthcoming album, which will feature 50 Cent as a executive producer, finally motivated me to listen to his first mixtape and I‘m happy that a lot of this can compete with Dior. He also sounds a lot like 50 on PTSD.

It’s an album full of bangers.
