The Brooklyn rapper makes good on the promise of “Welcome to the Party” with a debut full of the hardest, dirtiest tracks he can manage.

Pop Smoke's first mixtape starts with a rapper welcoming you with an impressive voice. And then he shoots through this aggressive beat that somehow makes you wanna dance with a presence that is absolutely the peak of hip hop. The funny thing is that's the album. I'm not a fan of drill rap, hence why I don't really like this mixtape. The production has that same flow and usually the same wavy bass leading to songs sounding very similar. Pop Smoke's voice is pretty unique though and in "Welcome To The Party" I find it the most entertaining. However, most of the time, he uses the same old drill flows. This isn't bad or anything, its just typical drill and not really for me but there are a few highlights and nice hooks. RIP too.
