Following the brief but for the most part uninteresting toy-box chop-up of 1996's Urmur Bile Trax, the album escapes the mire of noncommittal cheekiness by returning to early releases such as Tango N' Vectif and Bluff Limbo for inspiration, fusing pretty, affecting melodies and dynamic ambient atmospheres with beats that manage a tight balance between structured groove and complete chaos.

Lunatic Harness showcases very musical bleeps, bloops and waves of soft harmony with the beats of a true maniac. Yeah, it's weird.

As I’ve said in a different review, 1997 was a great year for electronic music, and here, I’ll say this was also a great year for IDM. Daft Punk made their debut, Aphex Twin made his best EP (and one of the best EPs of all time), and the Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy both released their best albums that year. This album delivers that vibe I've been looking for, and with a bit of attitude thrown into the mix.

Think of like a racing game set in a 2049-esque universe since this does not feel like something that came fdom 1997.

Production on this is fascinating; chaotic drum ... read more

Some amazing tracks but for the most part it felt boring and repetitive. Not really a fan of the space aesthetic that it portrayed.
Hast Boom Alert is one of my favorite idm songs btw, just the rest of the album doesn't have the same kick.

The title-track is the best track.
