what the fuck did i just listen to wow

basically this is a shortened version of a 24 hour song they made, and once i tried the long version and made it about 6 hours in. after getting more familiar with the Flaming Lips's style, i decided to check this out to see if i liked it. again, i was blown away. this album does not fuck around. it is an emotional roller-coaster and can change moods in a split second. the transition from meepy morp (reprise) to riot in my brain!! was so quick it made me ... read more
i'm a little conflicted on what to rate this. on one hand, it contains the same amazing material from the full version, but on the other hand, the pacing is pretty much ruined by being condensed like this. there's only so much you can cram into 50 minutes when the source material is 24 hours, and the poor results of the time constraints really show. however, depending on the situation, this can work to its advantage, as i may just want a quick recap of it rather than having to sit through the ... read more
I love the direction the Flaming Lips are heading. I think it's especially exciting because I never would've expected them to move into these territories.

Favorite Tracks: Can't Let it Go, In a Dream, 7 Skies H3 (Can't Shut Off My Head)
I mean sure but the 24 hour version is so much better
I see what this album was trying to do, and I commend them, but I feel if the album was long, leaving more time for the songs to build up, it wouldve been nicer, still its pretty good, its biggest enemy is time
