Steven Wilson's first studio outing as a solo artist is a triumphant effort. On this record, Wilson still retains the hard progressive sound that is prominent on his other project Porcupine Tree, but he also begins to explore other musical horizons. This album doesn't have a bad or boring track on it, as each song is unique in its delivery and sound, and it's an album that i can easily get lost in. My initial response to this Wilson release was a bit meek. But, after repeat listens the recording continues to delight... Meaning, its growing on me more and more. Perhaps it's due to my formerly rigid definition of how I defined Progressive Rock music. Like many things in life, my assimilation often comes a bit slowly. I'm a cautious listener.
