Pleasant, satisfying new release from the singer-songwriter,which straddles the line between the dreamy, acoustic and melodic side of folk-rock that works very well on his strengths. This track feels anthemic and fresh and formidable, just as much as his previous efforts, like his 2016's release Arranging Time. Good stuff right here, Pete.
Has that classic Pete Yorn from the first two albums, but with a tint of updated style for the current state of music
One of the biggest problems i had going into this LP was constantly reminding myself that this is not a Day Wave record.
Which was hell considering how much of the album sounds like something Day Wave would and also the fact that he had a hand in the production.
The worst part of it all was how much many of the songs here would suit Day Wave and instead we get someone with not even half the vocal ability possessed by Jackson Phillips (AKA Day Wave) and almost none of his pop sensibility.
