The first half is certainly better, whilst I think every track on the album is pretty great some on the second half suffer from mildly dates production, however Paul has always progressed with popular music well and is good at keeping himself relevant. The team up with Elvis Costello on here is great and I would still say this is one of the better solo albums McCartney has done.

Flowers in the Dirt is the sound of McCartney getting back on track in his solo career, providing 12 excellent tracks that mark a transition between his 1980s sound and the template he would adapt in the coming decade.
