‘So Much Fun’ is a free-spirited record that comes with heavy doses of ridiculousness, but it’s lovably silly, and is a welcome dose of light relief.
So Much Fun represents what we might expect a self-titled album to represent: a distillation of Young Thug’s artistry up to this point in time.
So Much Fun popped up practically out of nowhere and to everyone’s surprise it’s debatably his best release thus far; and he knows it.
Strange and exciting as ever, So Much Fun touches on the various elements of Young Thug's unconventional appeal and also turns in some of his best material to date.
So Much Fun succeeds in its quest to highlight the success of Young Thug; almost all of the 19 tracks could stand alone as a strong demonstration of what Thug does best, but they also work together to create a cohesive project.
As it happens, So Much Fun is pretty fun.
The album feels like a hinge, a turning point, for better or worse, as Thug has finally garnered the mainstream acceptance and exposure to match his talent.
