Melancholia aside, it’s serotonin ii’s impeccable sound design that has kept me coming back.

Loud and Quiet
On her debut album, yeule rings in the apocalypse with synths and a Launchpad. Conjuring a dark spectre of the future, the London-via-Singapore producer disappears into gothic pop reveries, blurring the line between illusion and reality.

yeule is an ambient pop/dream pop artist that I discovered through some of of my aoty friends, more specifically @knewnie and @notbuzzzila, and I can't thank them enough for making me discover this damn near masterpiece. I expect med from the cover that this was some sort of k-pop album that I probably won't listen to, but the cover really peaked my interest, so I just said: "fuck it" and listened to it, and that's like top 10 decisions my life lol.

wow... just... wow. this album is a transcendental experience. i've never heard of yeule, i had no prior experience with her music, until @gyro64 was like "YO, CHECK OUT THIS ALBUM IT'S SICK." the cover art immediately struck me as interesting, the colors, the fashion, all of it pointed to something i would love. so i went in with my arms wide open. and i got the fluffiest digital hug i could've asked for.

on Serotonin II, yeule successfully blends the sounds of Dream Pop and Ambient ... read more

I had no idea who Yeule was before this album, but I have a feeling I'll be keeping an eye on her output from now on since she just released my favorite ambient album of the year.

Full disclosure, I don't know how I'm gonna review this thing. I feel like if I drone on and on about tHe AtMoSpHeRe again it would just be annoying and repetitive to read...but I can't help it so I'll drone on about tHe AtMoSpHeRe for a minute if that's all good with you. Alright, so I've already established ... read more
Yeule seems like an extremely interesting ambient pop artist, and "Serotonin II" only heightens my interest. The production is simply beautiful, Yeule's vocals are ethereal as all hell and the lyrics, while sometimes sparse, is pretty effective. I wish I would have more to say, but I'd have to listen to it more. So let's just keep it at this, "I freaking loved it"!
