DaBaby has emotionally matured over the last six months, a fact that is reflected in his lyrics. Even if he has the superfluous style of the old DaBaby, there’s greater depth here than there was before.
DaBaby was born for stardom, and, judging from KIRK, he seems to love it.
While a more focused effort across the board would be appreciated, DaBaby’s time is currently now.
KIRK offers some moments of unexpected depth.
KIRK serves as a showcase of the 27-year-old MC’s maturation and expanding skill set.
Kirk sounds like an album he made while shopping for boats, and it’s not hard to imagine being completely done with him by, oh, this time next year.
While newer production tricks add some kick to DaBaby's formula, stagnant lyrics and monotonous flows present him as an artist unwilling to change; swamped by slushy imitations of his best work, the gems on Kirk aren't given the platform to shine.
There's no doubt DaBaby can flow; it's just unfortunate he spends so much time on KIRK, as he says, "fuckin' around."
this is my favorite baby album!!!!!!!!! it has no tiktok songs 😞😣 but it has actual character that some of his other music seem to lack. most of his verses have a big melodic element and the bass is as bouncy as ever. look at da baby!! so cute
You've heard one song, you've heard the whole album. Every beat's the same, every hook's the same, every ending's the same, every feature's the same, it's just incredibly generic and bland. It does have highlights, like some spots are pretty damn catchy, but that's about it.
Besides, I already have YBN Cordae's debut album. Miles better than this.

I'm starting to think that the 2019 xxl freshmen were not THAT good.
After the released of "Intro", I was hyped for the new DaBaby's project, it hinted towards the idea that "Kirk" was gonna see DaBaby expand his musical horizons, and tackle a wider variety of beats than on "Baby on Baby". "Intro" is definitely a nice single. Maybe his best song to date and great showcase of his talent. With Dababy's rise to fame, he now has access to a large variety of ... read more
