Sechnsucht builds on catchy choruses and obscure ideas, creating a sound that is both unsettling and thoroughly enjoyable.
Their guitars grind like an overbearing ear-bleed machine, locking into Sehnsucht's electronic ticktock rhythms with icy Aryan precision. The Überserious guttural delivery of ex-Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann lends the band a melodramatic sense of melody as muscular as it is mannered.
Musically, Rammstein is essentially Marilyn Manson with early '80s production techniques. More shock rock off the ol' block. Metal, crunchy guitars are lacquered with studio distortion to the point that they mimic alternating tones of television static.
This album does many things similarly to the previous one, but amped up a bit, and it irons out the rough edges. A very consistent and fun listen as long as you don't read the translated lyrics. good god
They sampled Loony Tunes. Death Grips could never do it.

I feel like this is the album where they start finding the direction they want to take the rest of their music. A little bit rough in places but overall good.
