You might not think that taking Weird Al Yankovic seriously enough to give a critical analysis of his music would be worthwhile, but if you consider the cultural impact he's had over the last forty years you would maybe see things differently. This is what TV Tropes would call 'Early Installment Weirdness'. Even for Weird Al.
Weird Al's debut is a nice showcase of a lot of his qualities like his more comedic tone, but he doesn't really have it all together yet. In fact, this album is a bit of an oddball in Weird Al's work. That doesn't stop the album from featuring some great performances and it's a really charming album in general.
