Oh. Okay. Time to listen to Girl in Red’s second EP and the project she made right before crafting in my opinion, one of the worst albums of all time. This...? Is. Not. Good. I could see the raw appeal in songs like “girls” and “i wanna be your girlfriend”. I thought this kind of music died with tumblr... This sounds like Snail Mail took 50mg Prozac and stopped trying.

While I still enjoy the tracks presented on chapter 2, I do see the argument that it kinda just feels like watered down chapter 1. Most of the writing and sound quality doesn’t quite match up to her previous project, and there aren’t really any new ideas offered up. This is more of the same that we saw from girl in red on her first EP, but it does make me worry about where girl in red is going to take her art. dead girl in the pool was my favourite song on here.

Everything Marie Ulven did beautifully in chapter 1 is dampened in chapter 2.

With tired lyrics, repetitive melodies, and a lack of artistic direction, girl in red is stuck at a crossroads.

One word to summarize this album: Buddy

PERSONAL FAVS: watch you sleep, i'll die anyways
LEAST FAV: bad idea!
