I was extremely excited for this EP because to me Truthpaste is one of the more interesting up and coming windmill bands. Unfortunately I think on this debut ep, in an attempt to further their sound, they end up muting many of the beautiful idiosyncrasies that encompassed their first couple of singles in lieu of a weird eclectic maximalism that only sometimes works. Love Friendship is the Truth despite this, that might be one of my favorite songs from 2026 thus far.
4 songs with completely different vibes from each other. rooted in folk, with a british accent, the genre is explored in an unconventional way, moving from reggae influences to electronic sounds. it feels like the game “choose your personality,” and personally, “never gonna give” is my pick.
