REALLY GOOD

Code Orange's first studio album after their name change, I Am King, showed lots of promise for these up-and-coming Pittsburgh metalcore kids. From the very start, the energy is there--much like Forever's title track, I Am King kicks it off with a title track that throws you right into the madness. Surprisingly good for a debut album. As always Code Orange, slaps you in the face with insane songs held back by the production that leaves much to be desired. Good album though.

Way better than I remember it being, thoroughly intriguing and hard hitting throughout. Not just a run of the mill hardcore record and not just experimental for the sake of being experimental. Code Orange comfortably rides the line between thosebtwo sides of modern hardcore records on this one, much more memorably than on Forever..

While the songs I picked up on while listening were exquisitely performed, brutal as hell and fun as fuck to listen to, it's still has a problem of tracks not really standing out by themselves.
