An improvement over The Messenger, but his songwriting has simply never been any good solo, how he gets ratings this high is beyond me.
One of the artistts to be praised by everyone but doesn't produce the means.
Better this time but still forwarding.
After reading several reviews of 'Playland', you get the picture that Marr is highly regarded as the under-appreciated Brit guitar hero who has launched a lackluster solo career never quite achieving the success of his former band, the Smiths. Gee. How fair is that a comparison? What I most enjoy about Marr's 'Playland' is that it comes off sounding as I hoped it might...a nice, well played Brit rock album.
