Local K-Pop fan here to interject his largely unpopular opinion to the masses! (Does 75 followers count as masses?)

Following their quite good debut mini album, TXT are here to make a big statement at what direction they are headed next. That direction happens to be a much dancier one. the follow-up of the “Dream Chapter: STAR” narrative is bolder and more mature in both sonority and scenarios. carrying on the story of juveniles transitioning into adolescence, the “MAGIC” project focuses on a mystical path of growth, tangled with self-discovery and the many angles of friendship.

The second instalment of the Dream Chapter trilogy comes with the same vibes that defined Star, albeit with a more mature edge. The opener, 'New Rules', is a funky number that helps set the tone for Magic alongside the whimsical pop-rock inspired title track, 'Run Away'. You don't often find a one-two punch like this on your regular K-pop release, do you? It's just not amazing. Maybe my expectations are too high because of who their seniors are, but this album had a couple nice tracks and that was about it.
Some interesting lyrics here and there, too.
Voices indistinguishable, which is quite disappointing. You don't need 5 members if they're all going to sound about the same due to the production.
Some extremely Kpop-sounding tracks (roller coaster, poppin star, angel or devil). Yes, it's a negative.
