'Mirage' is so MAGIC and I love it. 'Gypsy,' 'That's Alright,' 'Wish You Were Here,' and 'Can't Go Back,' are just some of the flawless tracks on this album. By far the most underappreciated Fleetwood Mac record of this era, 'Mirage' is a fantastic record that I think balances the different personalities of Fleetwood Mac well. There are good Stevie Tracks, some of my favorite Christine McVie tracks, and Lindsay Buckingham is sad but still writing good music! I am a big fan of this album.
So so so so close to brilliant, but somehow gets weighed down by a handful of merely not great tracks. Lindsey gives us some of his best, including Book of Love. Love In Store and Can't Go Back are pop perfect. Hold me is brilliant. The slower numbers here really stand out against the utterly brilliant stuff mentioned above. Odd to say a misstep since it's still overwhelmingly brilliant, but I gotta be fair about it. It's a VERY strong 80.
