Brainwashed stands proudly alongside Harrison's best post-Beatles work and pisses all over Paul McCartney's recent releases.
This is my favorite George Harrison album. It's sharp and critical of the world while still sounding joyous and fun. There is almost no waste or filler and for a late-career album it sounds youthful and energetic. I can't get enough!
The second half is definitely stronger, with marwa blues being a sublime instrumental. Other standouts are between the devil and the deep blue sea and the closer which is the perfect end to George’s career. RIP George - a true genius

“Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” is a lot of fun, but other than that I’m not a huge fan of a lot of the songs here.
