POWER by Twin Atlantic is a.... sorry completely forget what I was talking about.... oh yh the new Twin Atlantic album is not good nor bad....... sorry I was just daydreaming...... oh yes, POWER is not good nor bad. It has okay production, okay vocals, okay lyrics everything is....... wait what was I on about........ oh right, Powers is okay at everything it sets out to achieve but it ultimately becomes............... Sorry I forget what I was about to say.

Ten years ago, just after their first success which made them known to a large public, Twin Atlantic had opted to transform their music from a more interesting base (more punk) to generic (more pop and more alternative) to cover and respond to the commercial aspect without really having the shoulders. Today the band is back with an album that looks strangely similar to the 3 previous ones.

This is classic case of one step forward (GLA) and two steps back to being an average, plain album.
It's not bad per se, Novocaine to me was their standout; but their calibre can be utilised far better and can create memorable music in past albums. POWER won't have that replay value if you compare it to their previous album GLA.
Back to the drawing board for Twin Atlantic.
I've loved Twin Atlantic since I first stumbled on the Lightspeed video on Kerrang TV in 2010. Fell off a little bit with GLA, and POWER hasn't done much to bring me back on board. It's fun in places, but I don't think a synth-based Twin Atlantic is the Twin Atlantic I like. Novocaine a huge highlight on an album which otherwise didn't have anything else jump out for me.
