Clash

A rich album with a real sense of breadth, ‘no future’ finds EDEN harnessing new techniques while finessing his trademarks.

PopMatters

No Future finds Dublin's EDEN furthering his distinctive vision as he expands his sonic palette and broadens his perspective on an achingly beautiful modern pop album.

The Needle Drop

No Future runs like a compilation of alt-R&B and indietronic cliches.

Ok so its been 3 months now that no future came out, fully digested the album and this is my final thoughts on this LP. It's kinda bland and stale but the potential is there. I like the ideas and the production on where its going, but i feel like it needs more work on it. EDEN was going for a new sound and a new style, which i appreciate the man has talent, but at the same time he lost some key factors on vertigo and i think you think too much of me.

The introduction track on this LP is ... read more

No future is the sophomore LP by indie artist EDEN, released back in February 2020. Despite it being 19 songs long and a more mature version of his past work, this album ends up feeling like a long, boring, poorly paced interlude during many sections, and is a great example of how sometimes, less is more.

Errrrr, this is gonna be a hot take (please don't hurt me) so I have listened to EDEN since he was known as The Eden Project days and I wasn't always the biggest fan of his work but I always enjoyed a couple of songs from his bodies of work, especially in End Credits and Entrance but vertigo was a disappointment in some regard and so is no future (imo). This album to me just feels stale and just quite simple alternative R&B. Maybe, given some time i will warm up to this album but I can't ... read more

EDEN exits his sleepwalking phase.

I am fully aware that this being my favorite EDEN creation is a crime, but I don't care. This has so much more to grab onto than his earlier projects, and introduces a very pleasant and contoured electronica sound. It only trips over its own feet when it tries to fuse elements of his harder projects like vertigo and End Credits. You may ask me "What about $treams?", to which I will tell you that it is an album highlight.
