For Karen O, Where the Wild Things Are isn't just a soundtrack gig; it's a vessel through which she can again redraft her surroundings.
This soundtrack and movie bring such warmth and nostalgia to my heart that no other movie can fill. As a kid you rush to be an adult, and be cool like the "cool" highschoolers, but wanting to be older you realize that's not what brings happiness. A child that once had a vast imagination and loved life, now wants anything but that. Nothing really fills the void, and whatever does is only temporary.
