Venus and Mars might be Paul's most underrated post-Beatles work, as it has plenty of undeniably great pop rock tunes. The success of Band on the Run seems like it gave Wings the confidence to experiment a little more, and the results are interesting. Plenty of odd sonic textures pepper the tracklist, giving the album a moodier feel than BotR.
