Little did I know that for the rest of life, my computer would act as if The Innocence Mission was the center of Bandcamp, always redirecting me to their site every time I just wanted to listen to Rav or some shit. This is an incredibly engrossing album. Upon the first few lines that are sung with fragility on the opener one will be able to sympathise with this; the lead Karen Peris has a very unique sound that reminds me of Newsom somewhat. The instrumentation here is crystal clear and barebones, which only adds to the caressing but simultaneously delicate soundscape present. Lovely record!
So simple and beautiful. A good album to hear on a rainy day.
Not familiar with the band's discog but this is such a lovely folk album. Really clean and simple production, gorgeous arresting vocals and pretty melodies makes this nice and relaxing to listen to.
Faves: We Don't Know How to Say Why, John as Well, Mary Margaret in Mid-Air
Simplistic but uses that to its effectiveness, to make a slow, gorgeous melodies with great vocals which is good to to listen to whilst you are just chilling out but there isn't enough variation in the 11 track listing so the tracks aren't as memorable as they could be.
