Its 35 minutes feel like more than enough to justify the wait, and if he takes another eternity between albums, we can feel confident he’s spending that time making the maximalist pop record of our dreams.

The Needle Drop

By virtue of its richer synth layering and better integrated vocal guests, Good Faith is a step up from Madeon's 2015 debut.

We, the French, we were all waiting for it, and it's finally here, one of the most awaited albums of the year! Madeon is back with "Good Faith"!...
A question arises: musical genius or disappointment?

The French touch, a genre so glorified throughout the world since the end of the 1990s, is constantly being renewed and making us discover new artists. Since the advent of the heavyweights of the genre, the Daft punk or Air, the movement has fed the ... read more

Wow!! What? Huh? Jimpy just gave Madeon, some EDM dude he's not even that big of a fan of a 90/100? Seriously? That's a higher score than he gave to albums by La Dispute, Darkthrone, Rotting Christ, Denzel Curry, Death Angel, Injury Reserve, Rammstein, Whitechapel, American Football, Bad Books, Kevin Abstract, Flying Lotus, Sadistik, Full of Hell...a metric SHITTON of bands and artists he absolutely loves! How did Madeon--again, an artist that he's not all that crazy ... read more

Mega Review:
It's really hard to find an EDM album (or even song) that is emotional, high quality and creative, but also danceable. danceability and emotion are some of the hardest elements in music to combine. I hear some amazing albums claiming to be EDM but I can't really dance to it. Then I hear danceable songs, but they are low-quality pieces of trash that don't deserve any recognition. What's crazy is that the album makes me want to dance and cry at the ... read more
EDIT: I listened to this song right after I woke up in the morning. The bright colors felt so surreal when I was so groggy. I recommend trying this album in that context.

Good Faith is finally getting your head above water and dragging your body to shore. The bright, yet occasionally melancholy production capture this feeling of having overcome your biggest hardship and knowing that it's only uphill for you now.
People expecting an another banger like Adventure will be disappointed. Good Faith is somehow more laidback and dreamy but it's still groovy and catchy. The songs managed to be distinct and uplifting. It's really nice.

Faves: Be Fine, Nirvana, Hold Me Just Because, Miracle, No Fear No More

Edit: (prev score 83) This keeps getting more breathtaking every listens. I almost got teary eyed on how beautiful Miracle and Hold Me Just Because are!
