Simply put, Envys strengths are also their weaknesses. They have literally perfected their niche of music and they will never deviate from that. They almost make me want to say the one blasphemous thing that I hate when people say: All their songs sound the same. Its almost like a way for people to dismiss something great (Tool) but here, besides the few standout records, they've done a lot of the same thing repeatedly. The thing is, this is a solid record. While waiting for the new wave of tomorrow, here is for me the last album I wanted to talk about to close this beautiful week of releases, because I was surprised several times, first of all because I wasn't expecting to listen to Japanese rock/screamo post, in view of the cover and since I was discovering this band at the same time. So I looked on the net for some translations but I found some, but overall you can imagine it's not easy with the language barrier.

envy is a japanese Post-Hardcore band and their latest releases The Fallen Crimson, is a solid record but ultimately doesn't impress me as much. Maybe if i spoke Japanese I would enjoy this more but for now it is some solid post-hardcore which i will return to but it isn't a highlight of 2020.
