Rock Dust Light Star is a bit of a disappointment from Jamiroquai. The band returns years later with an album that is very unexpectedly generic in songwriting and very one-dimensional. There’s no substance or depth to this project at all and feels very bland, a huge difference from their work prior to this. It’s just not lively, something that a funk album needs in order to be successful.
Back to funk with an album that's less fancy and more organic, like its only purpose is to satisfy Jay Kay's passion for a good beat.
