The last Miles Davis album released before the acclaimed 'Round About Midnight, as well as the last Prestige release that is often seen as sub-par for Davis. After Collectors' Items, Miles would go on to release nothing but great works, beginning his career with Columbia and finishing his time with Prestige with a bang. Miles Davis Deep Dive: #17

Miles Davis' final album before making the jazz world his bitch is pretty good on the first side and middling on the second. The strongest cut is the first take of The Serpent's Tooth, which is immediately followed by a second take. I'm not able to point out any noticeable differences between the two takes, but from an album experience there isn't much of a point in having both.
