Royal Blored

I took a look at their Spotify description and there's plenty of names mentioned from the likes of The White Stipes and The Black Keys, to Arctic Monkeys, and even Foo Fighters. None of which I would call out as just being plain bad, but if we have to be honest, they are pretty basic artists. Not all of the artists mentioned were direct influences, but it becomes strikingly clear from the description and by listening to even just a few tracks here that Royal Blood have really set ... read more
"Man I WONDER what would HAPPEN if we COMBINE some DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE! But with like slower drums and shit because our drummer can't play that well. I'll make it up by pretending to be Jack White though!"
---Mike Kerr

Honestly it's not that bad but hell it is so boring. Whenever I listen to any song from this album I wish I'm listening to a DFA song instead
An insanely entertaining and well polished debut, with songs that will most certainly be stuck in your head for weeks and weeks to come. And that's pretty impressive coming from one of rocks most dangerous duos.

Favorite jams: Out Of The Black, Ten Tonne Skeleton, Loose Change

Lest favorite: Better Strangers
Exciting and intense, solid vocals with some pretty kick-ass guitar riffs.

Best Track: Come On Over
Worst Track: Figure It Out
What a debut!
This thing goes hard, like really hard. This sounds like a rock album from the '80s or something, the production is raw and there are no electronics in the mix. It's a refreshing sound and the songs are so damn catchy. If you're looking for an album that breaks boundaries though... this ain't it.
Also that breakdown on Out of the Black...

Favorite Tracks: Out of the Black, Little Monster, Figure It Out, Ten Tonne Skeleton, Loose Change
Least Favorite Track: Careless
