Rate this type of albums is kind of a sad experience. There is nothing wrong or really bad without them, most of them are really nice to listen, but at the end of the road there is nothing remarkable either.

In this case, the instrumentation is totally correct (but also amazingly generic), the vocals are quite nice in a style that goes from Matt Boehringer to The Boss dependent on the song, and the idea behind every song could be really engaging too, some of them are epic as hell (as the ... read more

One of the most generic rock albums I've heard this year, "Hollywood Park" as a whole fails to excite.

The opening track, "Hollywood Park", is good. The vocals are harsh but enjoyable, the instrumentation is sweeping and engaging. While this sort of anthemic alt-rock is not particularly original, it's one of my favorite alt-rock tracks of the year.
