Girls Aloud are back, and it's less with a bang, more with a full on nuclear holocaust ... The greatest pop girl group ever? Bananarama, Spice Girls, B*Witched, you're taking one hell of a beating.

This is a fine pop album that should be chewed up and spat out all over the inane, half-step, one-hit wankers who don’t seem to realise when to stop grinding their ‘hump’ and bugger off back to blingville.

Chemistry is more cohesive and feels like a genuine album with a theme compared to their previous ones, however, it has less amazing songs than those records making it the weakest Girls Aloud album in my opinion. With that said I love how unusual the structure of the songs are, it just proves how different their music was from everything that was going on in pop culture at the time. took me a while but it fully clicked recently.

i think the first problem i had with 'Chemistry' that getting back into the flow of regular listens alleviated was that the hooks on the non-singles arent very immediate. it takes a few listens for them to really take root, but now they have i can say that theyre just as good. ive had the "strippers and vicars" bit of 'Watch Me Go' and all of 'Models' permanently on loop in my brain. most tracks on here are unique ... read more
