“glasgow mega snake” goes hard ! it is a monster of a song, and it’s probably a fan favorite. it’s fast and heavy. the second half of “folk death 95” is another instance on ‘mr. beast’ when things get heavy. however, even in this instance, the heaviness sounds rather dull in comparison to the behemoth that is ‘mega snake’.

Difficult fifth album 'Mr. Beast' took a bit longer to arrive, a full three years, but despite all the hype and hyperbole before release it wasn't any particularly radical departure. In fact, this is about the point in time where the 'post-rock formula' was starting to get criticised a little for being somewhat predictable and played out.
