Random Desire is an album that goes a little bit unnoticed, although it is still on the home page, probably because the name Greg Dulli doesn't particularly speak for itself, yet he is a fantastic artist who has done so much good with his bands Afghan Whigs / The Twilight Singers and who has just released a charming Alternative Rock album.

A fantastic little album for a Dulli devotee like myself. It's all within his wheelhouse but some stylistic and pacing choices might make this the first project in his long-lived career that I would consider an honest grower. It's not one of his misfires and I don't think it belongs to his pantheon but time will tell. As of now. god the mixing and the vocals can get so dogshit, it's unbearable at times. its boring. i try but i just can't pull anything out of this record that is memorable.
This album's production and mixing were some of the worst I have heard this year. I couldn't understand what the lyrics were because the lackluster instrumentation was too loud and fuzzy. But in a way, I'm glad that I couldn't hear Dulli so easily because, based on what I was able to make out, his generic lyricism is so hilariously bad that it almost made me cringe at times. If you like the band The Afghan Whigs or The Twilight Singers check out this album by their lead sing Greg Dulli with his new alternative rock album Random Desire as it is a nice little album which fans of is work is bound to love. even if it is a pretty safe album it is well made and highly enjoyable.
