Kevin Parker's been teasing us for months now and building up anticipation for The Slow Rush, and this is the very first single to actually blow me away!

I've liked the general direction Tame Impala was heading with the past few singles, but this song just takes the new sonic direction to a whole 'nother level, and it's incredible! It's lush, the atmosphere of the song is immersive and hypnotic, and Kevin's vocals are heartfelt and haunting. The first half is a thrilling dense and heavy ... read more

Right now, I'd say "Posthumous Forgiveness" is to "The Slow Rush" as "Apocalypse Dreams" and "Let It Happen" are to "Lonerism" and "Currents". Yeah holy shit, Kevin really did blow it out of the water with this one. This song feels incredibly different from the other singles, with this one feeling way more hypnotic and cinematic, especially during the first half. Also the length and segmented parts really did remind me of Let It Happen. Hopefully we see alot more of this on the album.

Score: 8.5/10
