Classic Tape.
One of the best mixtapes of all time.

It may not be as musically evolutionary as Rodeo or Astroworld, but every song on here is still it's own fun experience and there's no filler. Production is fantastic as always and Travis' performance is grandiose.

A mixtape full of earworms.

➕ Drugs You Should Try It, Mamacita, Days Before Rodeo The Prayer, Don't Play, Zombies, Sloppy Toppy, Basement Freestyle, Quintana Pt 2

A really solid project from Travis, it is easily one of his best projects. Many tracks are easily repayable and are very enjoyable. The album starts stronger than it ends though as after the track "Zombies", the album's quality really decreases as the track "Sloppy Toppy" starts as it is one of the worst songs on this tape and the Migos really ruin that track. After that track its mostly filler. Overall the project is great though.

currently, I'm not sure if I like this more than rodeo. it was as good at the very least, but I'll have to go through a couple more listens for a final verdict. what's for sure about this tape is that travis' raps were much stronger and less muddled than they were on rodeo, giving a rawer and more natural tone. this was a pretty satisfying listen to say the least
fav tracks: quintana pt. 2, skyfall
Autotune used in a various way, a crude flow and raw beats that transform this album in a trappy yeezus tape.
The problem is the lyricism lacking of originality characterized by "poppin pills" "fuckin girls" that doesn't separate him from most of atlanta rappers.
I still appreciated that in Backyard rapped about his private life describing for example a moment with his mother and Houston instead of picking the same formula of the remaining 12 songs.
