This is what first got me into rock music, and it’s for good reason. Very accessible rock tunes. The main problem I have with the album is how much the songs sound alike. It is a good sound, but it needs more diversity.

Nothing wrong with this one, just like The 1975's debut, it doesn't really do much for me. It's just another black and white, pop rock record, with love songs in it, that's forgettable, sure, there are decent moments, but, that's it, like, why whould you come back to this album, when you can hear the "good moments" by themselves?

I'll be honest tho, Kathleen is a great song.

Favorite Tracks: Kathleen, Pacifier

Least Faves: Sidewinder maybe, I don't even remember how it sounds

A generic indie rock album from a band I'll never hear of again. The singer can't sing, the lyrics are boring, the instrumentation is generic, why would I listen to these guys over any other band in their scene?

Faves: Rango, Tyrants
Least Faves: Kathleen, Pacifier, Hourglass, Business

Is this generic, accessible and surface level as hell? Hell yes
Is it catchy, fun, banger filled and in general a sweet album with a solid mood and a consistent vibe that made me insanely happy to hear?
Fuck yes

A fantastic debut album that's still overlooked, despite being out for all these years. There's a lot of power in the production and vocals, particularly in tracks like Tyrants and Cocoon. Majority of the songs are pure ear candy and is consistent in its sound, without sounding like the same bunch of songs (like their future albums). One of my favorites of all time!
