They may still be stuck in their apartments, false nostalgia, or dead-end service gigs, but the upstart Seattle emo band’s revelation of a second album goes places.

A band to keep on your radar for sure. Floral Tattoo explore the confusion of the 21st century, of finding your identity and of growing up, in a very honest and open way. Musically diverse but coherent. A very solid Shoegaze/Emo record.

although i preferred the lo-fi, more punk-inspired sound the band explored on approaching bearable, there's no doubt that you can never have a long enough head start is more lush, more atmospheric, and a great new direction for floral tattoo, especially considering songs like "she" and "(my life fell apart this year)"

This is a bit of a hard listen. I quite like the vocals and the compositions but the mixing is just really off-putting. I understand why the mix has a lo-fi tinge to it but it doesn't exactly work all the time. The more acoustic cuts on are my favs. They have a Neutral Milk Hotel aura to them.

Best Track: Oar House
Worst Track: (Redding Forest Fire / Fermi)

I think that Danny, Be Well might be my favorite track of the year and one of the better ex farewells ... read more
