If the Cranberries once sounded as if they were sleepwalkers in a world gone weird, To the Faithful Departed sounds as if they’ve finally awakened. They may not like what they see, but at least they’re ready and willing to scream about it.

For such a dour album, To the Faithful Departed ends up being their most electric, life-affirming album to date, a reminder to hold close those things that are precious and to value what you have before it's too late.

Rather than empathizing with O'Riordan pained sketches, you just want her to be okay, which is another way of saying that she's becoming a pop star.

There's no doubt this band – or at least O'Riordan – has conviction. But the group's approach is so clumsy, the album is ultimately as insubstantial as a bowl of dry Crunch Berries.
To the faithful departed is such a downgrade from their first two albums it’s actually mind boggling. They abandon their pretty unique dream pop adjacent style to embrace pop rock to their detriment. I don’t even really want to talk about this album because it’s upsetting how much a downgrade it is.
Bit boring at times, but with some pretty good tracks here and there.

I can't understand how the average rating for this album can be 7/10... it was an amazing experience listening to this album, amazing beginning, even better ending and tears in my eyes while listening to "When You're Gone"
Pretty solid album. Definitely not as good as the previous records, but still enjoyable. Hollywood, When Youre Gone, Cordell are all great tracks.
