Even at Gray's most yearning and emotionally wrought moments, he's got the charisma to get you singing along.

I assumed this would be another generic indie album but "Kid Krow" is surprisingly passionate and beautifully sung. There's not a single bad track on here and, while it's not entirely smooth thanks to the two interludes, it's a short but sweet record that has melody and hit-single charm poured into every track... which definitely ain't a bad thing.

Conan Gray shows that it's sometimes possible not to be too generic by bringing a soul and a few subtleties to make an ultra-pop album within the limits of the reasonable.

Let's be honest, Kid Krow remains an album like I've heard thousands of others. It's in the spirit of the times, but without any innovation, and there's this predictable side to it. The songwriting is surprisingly interesting & compelling, the instrumentals can be a bit bland but add some cool textures every once in a while to shake things up. The interludes are completely unnecessary and sort of mess with the flow of the record. Conan Gray’s voice is beautiful and there are some really catchy tracks here.
I feel like a proud dad.

I’ve been listening to Conan Gray and following him since his Sunset Season EP, which was released in 2018, and his growth is evident on Kid Krow. Gray has evolved from the boy making covers of Lorde in his bedroom to the budding pop musician he is today. Kid Krow still has the youthful feel of Sunset Season, but has a more mature nature. It’s a very sentimental album for Gray, as he recounts the feelings that he’s pent up inside throughout his high ... read more
