Even at Gray's most yearning and emotionally wrought moments, he's got the charisma to get you singing along.

Unlike so many, our Conan doesn’t just walk the stats-based walk. He delivers the goods too.

A collection of catchy choruses, big harmonies and lyrics straight out of a high school drama.

I assumed this would be another generic indie album but "Kid Krow" is surprisingly passionate and beautifully sung. There's not a single bad track on here and, while it's not entirely smooth thanks to the two interludes, it's a short but sweet record that has melody and hit-single charm poured into every track... which definitely ain't a bad thing.

Conan Gray shows that it's sometimes possible not to be too generic by bringing a soul and a few subtleties to make an ultra-pop album within the limits of the reasonable.

Let's be honest, Kid Krow remains an album like I've heard thousands of others. It's in the spirit of the times, but without any innovation, and there's this predictable side to it. All the tracks (except the interludes) can become a potential single. However, Conan Gray exudes this positive energy and I find that he has ... read more
I didn't expect to enjoy ANY of this, considering how much I absolutely despise this new wave of zoomer indie pop coming from artists like Lauv and Bazzi. Most of it feels so lifeless, with lyrics touching on nothing but broken hearts, drugs, and being #sad and instruments so basic you could mistake them for twenty different songs from fifteen different artists. This however... this feels like effort was put into it, and the result is very rewarding. Catchy as all hell, amazing vocal work from ... read more
Really thought this was going to be some tumblr forced shit, but it's actually pretty nice, I like every song in this, maybe the interludes weren't necessary but still a great debut! He has potential.
Just looking at the cover I was expecting some lifeless quirky zoomer indie bedroom pop, but overall I enjoyed this debut. There is a lot of potential here. The songwriting is surprisingly interesting & compelling, the instrumentals can be a bit bland but add some cool textures every once in a while to shake things up. The interludes are completely unnecessary and sort of mess with the flow of the record. Conan Gray’s voice is beautiful and there are some really catchy tracks here.
