My adventure of reviewing my vinyl records continues.

And wow, it's not often you hear such a beautiful record as this. It seems that Iceland has no shortage of artists capable of creating beautiful concoctions of sound. Sigur Ros, the late Johann Johannsson... and now Olafur Arnalds.

A beautiful ambient piano and strings album. A truly wonderful experience for anyone who is at all into post-rock, classical or ambient music as a whole.

Heartwarming ambient, piano songs that rattle my membrane endlessly, imagining emotional flocks of seagulls surrounding my shoulders, bursting into oblivion as I cry during a beautiful sunset, waving goodbye to all of my loved ones as they sail away on a big brown boat into the horizon where I can no longer see them until I reach victory, me knowing there’s a 0% chance I will ever reach it. Just kidding great album 7.5/10 thanks hmj woo

Styles by way of gorgeous ambient songcraft, string arrangement and the inclusion of both electronic coloring and more traditional rock instruments by way of guitar & drums. By no means "Mainstream" any more than it qualifies as a purely "Classical" LP, Arnalds introduces the listener to the nuclear kernel (of his imagination) that will become Arnald's future modern classical recordings.
