Well someone mentions Drone or more specifically Drone Metal, Boris and Sunn O))) are usually straight in my head and although Boris has dabbled in other styles their still no for their drone thanks to albums such as Feedbacker and Sunn O))) is probably the most recognizable Drone artist out their. An album that so oddly sounds comfortable in hell. While some tracks are able to hold up some normal structure due to Boris' vocals (like the track "The Sinking Bells"), most of the runtime on Altar is taken up by dark air and incredible percussion.

An excellent blending of their two styles, a great collab where each band brings out the best in the other.

It's the rare and odd sort of collaboration that doesn't just mingle some of the greatest strengths of both acts, Altar pushes them in new and exciting directions.

É definitivamente um mudança de estilo para a banda, mesmo sendo um dos álbuns mais suave do Sunn O))) esse projeto ainda mantém o estilo atmosférico e aterrorizante da banda, mas dessa vez com elementos e influencias diferentes.
