I think Sunny Day Real Estate, which debuted in the same year, is the pioneer of emo, but this work is not only influenced by them, but also makes melodic hardcore, pop punk, and power pop.
It seems that the breadth of the musicality is the driving force behind this band's later spread of the emo genre.

This is like a more raw version of Bleed America, I liked it but there were a few songs near the end that felt a bit like filler
