Millionaires concludes a highly inconsistent decade for James. Among the band's most famous songs have also been several misfires. Millionaires lands neatöy in the middle of this pile, with a radio-friendly melodic sound, developed from their last album, yet more consistent both in sound and quality. Returning to a guitar-heavy sound and bringing out their inner Suede, James takes a step back in the right direction.

Due to the apparent weakness of their material, even the help of Brian Eno won't guide them surpass their own limits and prove that they have the knack of arena-pop.
