Nandi Rose's music shines brightest when she can balance her incredible storytelling capabilities with her electric melodies and creative synth work. Lavender, Half Waif's 2018 record, is probably one of the strongest synthpop concept albums of the decade. Lavender was one of my favorite albums of 2018 and The Caretaker lives up to the hype as Half Waif's follow up. I love how detailed the production is especially in the first half and her writing is as strong as ever. Really introspective album with a lot of focus on the kind of reflection we go through during isolated periods of time especially winter and aiming to come out of it a better person. great stuff

What a consistent body of work, truly. First time hearing anything from this artist, really surprised in a very positive way.
All I wanna say is that I definitely could've picked a better soundtrack than this album for when I played club penguin instead of writing my term papers

The Caretaker is a mystifying album with places a heavy emphasis both atmosphere and introspection and manages to create a harmonious balance between the two. It's honestly a beautiful pop album just on a sonic level alone.
