Tiny Mix Tapes

An album for your soul. How It Feels to Be Something On is more than just one of my favorite albums of all time; it is my heart, my mind, my emotions.

In this season of fall, we sadly recognize that "Nothing gold can stay"; but listening to How It Feels to Be Something On reminds us that even our deepest losses are capable of bearing gold as well.

Taken on its own terms, How It Feels to Be Something On is a remarkable step forward from a band that seemed destined to leave its full potential untapped.

Honestly Two Promises is one of my fav songs ever and my 2nd fav emo song. While originally I wasn't the biggest fan of this album it just grew and grew on me a lot. I'm really digging it. Thank you for putting me on whatever you’re on

WOAHHH okay I think this is my favorite Sunny Day album wowww this is great. This feels like a completely different beast in comparison to their past two records. I feel like this album is going for some low vibes. Not for the screaming performances like the band did extremely well on Diary, and that's not a bad thing. Its a good album, with great performances, Although I think the instrumentals on Diary popped out more, Im really feeling it. Maybe I'll bump it up to 2 points if it grows on me more.

every time i accidentally dress like i’m in a midwest emo band i listen to a great midwest emo record

A vast improvement over their early, more well known "Diary" Sunny Day Real Estate came back from a disbandment to create of the most, bleak, weary but ultimately amazing albums that had quite the emotional gut punch to many of its songs.
