William Goldsmith is honestly iconic. His style is a bit less chaotic here compared to diary but not as tame as what would follow from LP2. Playing the drums to songs like 5/4, iscarabaid and ESPECIALLY J'nuh is such a challenge, not only because of goldsmith's love for ghost notes and doubling up his hits but the wacky midwest emo time signatures and polyrythms are ramped up on this album AND THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I LOVE TO PLAY. Even though LP2 doesn't have that many stand out tracks as Diary it is still a consistently enjoyable Midwest Emo record and a good follow up to their highly acclaimed debut but just feels too messy for me to fully enjoy the album but I am sure i would love it more if i was going through a breakup thus i can see some people really loving this record if it resonates with them at the right time.

It's messy and raw, but that only adds to the beauty of the album. Not a good intro to SDRE, but one of the strongest emo albums out there.
